Problem Statement

IPCA, a well-known Indian pharma company, wanted to celebrate something special in order to pay tribute to doctors on Doctor’s Day. The idea was that Medical Representatives (MRs) could visit doctors on festival days, bring them a physical cake with a thank-you letter, and take two photographs – one of the doctor and another of the cake. MRs uploaded these photos into the system, and the system generated a personalized certificate on the spot. Doctors could frame the certificate and display it in their clinic as a reminder of bond with the company.

The client needed a web application which was optimized for the mobile browser to allow MRs to use it on the go. The application needed:

  • Supporting image uploading
  • To generate certificates in real time
  • To be integrated with IPCA’s central employee login system

It also needed to play three distinct roles with varying access:

  • MR view: For image uploading and certificate generation
  • Manager view: In order for zone and area managers to view activity pertaining to only the MRs who report to them.
  • Head Office view: For viewing data in the country with filter by region or zone

Each view focused on showing only the relevant data. Zone managers, for example, were able to view only physicians belonging to their geography, while head office had access to information for the entire country. Role-based segregation ensured simplicity and accountability.

We kept the head office informed with daily email reports on campaign performance. With over 10,000 MRs and a hard launch scheduled, the platform went live before the May deadline. Also, We ensured the platform met all compliance checks from IPCA’s IT team in terms of data privacy, storage, and server configuration.

Solutions

We developed a mobile-friendly web application that worked perfectly on any mobile browser- no app download required.

Our implementation included:

  • Detailed requirement analysis at the beginning
  • Frequent customer interaction and feedback at every milestone
  • Fast turnaround time between iterations
  • Intensive module testing before final rollout
  • Rigorous quality check on every aspect

The web app allowed MRs to log in using their IPCA credentials, upload two photos (doctor and cake), and generate a personalized thank-you certificate on the spot.

Role-based access granted:

  • MR View: Uploading pictures and giving out certificates
  • Manager View: View only the MRs and activity within their zone or region
  • Head Office View: See nation-wide data with filtering by location and teams

This segmentation made sure that every one of the stakeholders saw only relevant information. Managers saw zone-based data in their updates. The head office monitored performance region-wise.

Additional system features included:

The system supported role-based real-time analytics and sent periodic reporting emails to the head office. It smoothly integrated with IPCA’s employee authentication infrastructure and aligned fully with the company’s IT, security, and privacy standards.

The client internally categorized this as a custom software development and web application project.

Impact

We implemented the platform on time and scaled it to handle over 10,000 MRs across India.

Doctors showcased the certificates visibly in their clinics. Managers could simply track their zones. The head office was provided with updated analytics through filters and summary reports.

IPCA’s IT team audited and certified the platform for server security, data management, and storage.

Since built from scratch, this project sets the benchmark for our AI-driven development. Certificate production, reporting, and verification of the system performance were automated with the help of our AI tools. We delivered a smooth, large-scale rollout that became a flagship project in our AI-driven software portfolio.
