Google ALLO : still an unheard name !

It has been more than a year from its launch, it has crossed the 10 million user mark, it is better in terms of features, yet it has gone unheard of in todays world. You still don’t know what is Google Allo, isn’t it? Well “its like Whatsapp” these words are enough to describe what Google Allo is all about.

Call it whatsapps first mover advantage or its wide spread 1 billion users but the term “whatsapp”  is enough to explain what instant messaging means. Even Google is still far from challenging whatsapp. The search engine giant is by far the sole candidate that could have been a competitor but till now it has not shown any signs of being a threat.

Some cool Allo exclusive’s from Google

Allo has a Smart Reply built in that learns over time and will show suggestions that are in your style, so you can respond to messages without typing a single word. For example, it will learn whether you’re more of a “haha” vs. “lol” kind of person. Smart Reply also works with photos, providing intelligent suggestions related to the content of the photo. If your girlfriend sends you a selfie, for example, you may see Smart Reply suggestions like “beautiful” or “your looking marvelous” if these are how you usually respond to her.

It’s also offering support for Stickers and the ability to draw on photos and videos and also send GIFs. There’s also an Incognito chat mode for end-to-end encryption and the chats disappear after sometime, ensuring your privacy. Groups chats are also supported on the app.

Allo also features the Google assistant, bringing the richness of Google directly into your chats—helping you find information, get things done, and have fun.

Then what went wrong ?

Google has been trying a lot. There is Duo for video calling and allo for chatting then there is hangout, three apps for conversing! Clubbing them together might work.To enhance smart reply in Allowing, chats are stored, this has raised privacy concerns among user. Whatsapp now is end-to-end encrypted. Though it is better in terms of features but it is still not the “in thing” in the messaging era. Being a Google Fan I wish Allo clicks.
